Govinda himself shared the anecdote

Govinda himself narrated this incident in an interview given to Pinkvilla. Govinda had said, ‘My career was at its peak at that time. I was shooting for Banarasi Babu at that time and the film ‘Judwaa’ was also with me. During the shooting of Judwaa, once I got a call from Salman at around 2-3 in the night. He said, Chichi Bhaiya, how many more hits will you give. I asked him why, what happened? He said, please leave the film Judwaa which you are shooting right now and give it to me. Along with the film, you will have to give its director and producer to him as well.


Govinda further said, ‘After this I left the film for Salman and he got that project. I had just started the project of Judwaa and then I left it for Salman because the Khan family is like a family to me. The love and bonding between our two families cannot be affected because of any film. Our work never comes in between our personal relationship.’

Judwaa was a super hit

Judwaa was released in 1997. Salman Khan was seen in a double role in it. He was accompanied by Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. This film, directed by David Dhawan, proved to be a superhit at the box office.
